【BJD News】 1/2 doll?! --Sprit Doll, Alice

Alright this is like not news anymore, its just that I didn't notice they already released it until a few days ago.

SO! Here is Spirit Doll's last limited edition for the wonderland series--Alice!

 

Yes she is stunning. But that's not the only point.

She's the first 1/2 size doll, the only female doll that is above 75cm amoung at least all Chinese BJD companies!

 

Normally larger size dolls have mature look, male with well-developed muscles and female with  sexy shape, but Alice has the appearance of a real size normal girl.

She looks like ...eh............I'm running out of my vocabulary to describe her.......she'a very DOLLY doll, like the very back-to-origin one, the most traditional type--> that looks as realistic as possible

Hopefully you can get what I mean. ORZ

 

Here's an comparison picture of her with a 1/3 doll. Huge stunning girl! She fits my imagination of Alice perfectly.

The good thing of 1/2 size is you can find clothes for her easily. I guess you can just by kids' clothes for her, and BJD clothes are expensive anyways so it won't cost too much more...

The bad thing is, SHE'S 7KG. Unless you are super strong, or she will stay at home most of the time cuz it sounds like impossible to move her around and take her out...

 

I'm really looking forward to find someone upload their own photos of her, but given her size and price ($1100), there're probably not a lot of people considering get her home till now...

 



A break from BJD news and study...

Life is totally out of control near the end of the semester.

Group works piles up, lectures to review, papers due, while I keep procrastinating.

Autum past before I notice and take some more pictures, and so does the first snow of winter. :S

Last fall in Montreal was much longer and brighter than this one as I remembered, just like this picture, took in my beloved McGill downtown campus:

 

I was expecting the same view this year but it never happened.......

 

Anyways hopefully I will get more time taking pictures of the Montreal's favorite winter soon.

【BJD NEWS】Crobidoll's Winter Project Finally UP!!

Crobidolls has been counting down for it's winter project since the start of November on their website. On Nov. 16th, the website finally updated to reveal the mysterious winter project.

They did not only changed their logo, but the whole site is in a pinky style now.

The first doll they revealed is Rognikey, and they also released a CD of him. For the first time, the doll has his own voice!

【BJD NEWS】10 Year Anniversary Event of Fairy Land Doll

 

 

If I was asked to rank BJD companies according to their doll's quality, Fairy Land Dolls would be in the top 3. Their BJD body design is a little bit different from other BJD companies, and the stationary (how well the doll can stand by itself with different positions) and mobilities (how many poses can the doll make) is so far the best.

【BJD NEWS】Unoa releases new 50 line!

Unoa recently releases their new 50cm dolls Zest and Xyle

As usuall, the doll kits are purchased through a lottery system, only the chosen people will be able to buy the doll kits. And to join the lottery, you need a japanese contact information and have to know how to speak japanese as they required. This restrict lottery system made Unoa dolls one of the most exclusive BJD, but still they are really popular because of the quality and reputation.

As shown from the photos, not only there are two types of body (zest and xyle have different shoulder in the 1st picture), the new body also have some improvements on mobility.

The faceplates are changable, and you can move the eyes with a built-in device in the doll head, just like other Unoa dolls.

These detailed and exquisite body designs made Unoa dolls one of the best.

However if you are not living in Japan and don't know any friend who's in Japan, it is really hard to get one.

 

How to get an U-noa doll?

You can buy them on Noppin； http://noppin.ocnk.net/   but normaly the doll kits are all sold out and you can only buy the faceplates and some other accessaries. Sometimes there will be auctions on Yahoo Japan, and you will need to find an agency to help you bid in the auction. Many people do it through Noppin http://www.noppin.com/, but there are always many other ways. Luckily, you may also find people selling their old dolls on doll forums like DOA, http://www.denofangels.com/. As for Ebay, the chances to find them is small, and even if you find some they are usually over priced too much. But recently I find someone selling the very limited 1/3 scale edition, Unoa Zero on ebay.
